“Write without pay until somebody offers to pay.” Mark Twain

This project was started years ago in the Google Blogger with its site title, “Still Gathering String“. However, in July of 2019 I moved it to my own domain name and continued my writing. It just seemed like it would be a fun thing to do.

Contents of this blog consist of three main categories, Letters not WrittenContemporary U.S.  and Website Technical Credits .  Also, there is an About Me page, like I’m not talking about myself enough, in Letters not Written, there is an additional page for that.

This is a 60s blog. I research achieved additions of periodicals that were published in the 60s seeking out history as it happened; when it happened. Even though politics is all the rave, I’m mainly interested in human interest stories in how people lived and what their interest were.  I’m also revisiting main events for any anomalies, not really covered in history books.

Continue to scroll down this page, for the excerpt of the menu pages or just click on the category titles above in the menu. If you venture into reading posts, please use the comment section found at the end of each one. Leave a comment. I’d love the feedback.

If you  have been here before, the site look has been changed. I’m test driving the Word Press theme, Twenty Seventeen. The posts stories are the same, just the theme has changed. Also, some of the images have been provided by, unsplash.com. Others are ones of my own creation that I have designed over the years.

This website is practicing social distancing, in that it is not connected to any social media platforms at this time.

Keep scrolling and enjoy

Letters Not Written

Reflections of 60 years past is a mental journey much like that of skipping stones across a lake. Somethings I will remember as if they occurred, but only yesterday. Other events will be as if they never happened. Continue reading “Letters Not Written”

Contemporary U.S.

It isn’t the opportunity that creates the individual, it is the individual that creates the opportunity.

American culture is one that has developed over the course of our nation’s 250 year history. It is a cultured character made up of ordinary people, living ordinary lives beyond that of politics. Built upon the generation that lived before the present, the culture continues to evolve over time. Continue reading “Contemporary U.S.”
